  • Emalie Jones Peel will be Grand Marshal of Pioneer Day Parade in Mona

Emalie Jones Peel was selected to be the Grand Marshal of the Mona City Pioneer Day Parade.
Emalie and her husband Blaine Jones moved to Mona in 1974 with their seven chidren: Peggy, Jonathan, Jeff, Susan, Gordon, David, and Janette. They fell in love with the small, friendly atmosphere of Mona.
Emalie has led a life rich in community service. She is a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, dances with Jean's Golden Girls, is an expert seamstress, gardens and preserves the bounty, freely shares her musical talent in church and as an accompanist for community groups, and serves as a 4-H leader. She has served as a Relief Society president twice.
In 1980, Emalie taught first grade in Nephi for three years, then at Mona Elementary when it first opened for the next 15 years. She retired in 1997 to care for Blaine as he struggled with cancer. After his death in 1999, Emalie volunteered as a music teacher at Mona Elementary for seven years.
In 2006 she married Paul Peel. Together they served a work mission in the Independence Missouri Mission from 2007-2008. Emalie is currently serving as a temple worker in the Manti Temple and as a counselor in the Primary presidency. She also loves to play the piano and organ, knit and sew. She freely shares her talents blessing the lives of so many, including her 4-H students and her 34 beautiful grandchildren. Her kind and gentle manner endears her to her family and all who know her.
