The 68th annual Ute Stampede paid out $36,407.55 in prize
money at the end of the three-day event.
Winners of the bull riding event earned a total of
$5,519.30. Those winners were: Kenny Drayton, with a score
of 84 for first place a purse of $1,821.36; Andy Payne, with
a score of 81 and a prize of $1,379.82 for second place;
Jared Jacques, with a score of 80 and a prize of $993.47;
Wrangler Nix, with a score of 78 and a prize of $662.31;
Cody Hancock with a score of 76 and a prize of $386.35; and
a split of fifth and sixth&emdash;Naren Means and Tyson Rich
with a score of 74 each and a prize of $137.98 each.
Winners in the saddle bronc event won a total of
$4,413. Those winners were: Raines Benny with a score of 84
and a prize of $1,456.43; Matt Ballard with a score of 81
and a prize of $1,103.37; Jerad McFarlane, with a score of
79 and a prize of $794; Jet McCoy with a score of 77 and a
prize of $529.62; Todd Rangel and Matt Marvel with a score
of 76 each and a prize of $264.80 each.
The event of bareback riding had a total prize of
$3,346.50. Winners were Lance Kelly and Chuck Logue who had
a tie for first/second place with a score of 79 each and
each won a prize of $$970.48 each; Jess Davis, with a score
of 77 each won a prize of $602.32; Jet McCoy with a score of
76 and a prize of $401.58; Danny Blackhurst with a score of
74 and a prize of $234.25; Eric Nielsen and Stetzen Stoddard
with a score of 73 each and a prize of $83.66.
Team ropers divided a prize of $7,740.60. Winners were
Wess Kellett and Greg Bennett with a time of 7.1 seconds for
a prize of $1,122.38 each; J.D. Devearaux and Nick Hanks
with a time of 7.1 and a prize of $928.87 each; Matt Lossee
and Carly Young with a time of 7.1 and a prize of $735.35
each; Travis Pendleton and Charley Spencer with a time of
7.4 and a prize of $541.84 each; Lynely Williams and Kevin
Uheeled with a time of 7.5 for a prize of $348.32 each; and
Whip Lewis and Steve Sherwood for a time of 8.2 for
$193.51.
The total take for calf ropers was $5,432. Winners
were Matt Shioiawa with a time of 9.7 and a prize of
$1,575.28; Kirk Smith with a time of 9.9 and a prize of
$1,032.08; Jene Loveless with a time of 10.3 and a prize of
$760.48; Boyd Bucks with a time of 11.1 and a price of
$488.88; and Dawen Burke with a time of 11.4 and a prize of
$271.60.
Steer Wrestling had a total prize of $5,650.25.
Winners were Coby Tenes with a time of 4.4 and a prize of
$1,638.57; T.W. Packer with a time of 5.0 and a prize of
$1,356; Clint Robinson with a time of 5.4 and a prize of
$791.03; Seth Hadlock with a time of 5.8 and a prize of
$508. 51; and Braydn Bennett with a time of 5.9 and a prize
of $282.51.
The Women's Barrell Race had total prize money of
$4,305.60. Winners were Kelly Kaminski with a time of 17.48
and a prize of $904.17; Melanie White with a time of 17.50
and a prize of $775; Edria Day with a time of 17.52 and a
prize of $645.84; Jackie Barnson with a time of 17.61 and a
score of $559.72; Kim Barton with a time of 17.72 and a
prize of $430.56; Barbara Merrill with a time of 17.17 and a
prize of $258.33; Jolee Lautaret with a time of 17.79 and a
score of $258.33; a split between Norma Wood and McKenzie
Miller each with a time of 17.80 for a prize each of
$150.69; and Chelsa Talbot with a time of 17.81 and a prize
of $86.11.
