Three times in a row as region champs can be hard for any team to accomplish, but our Lady Wasps softball team made it look easy this season as they were crowned Region 12 champs on May 4. The team finished with an undefeated record for the third straight year. The team finished their last week of region play with a game against North Sanpete on May 1 and Canyon View on May 4. Against North Sanpete, the Lady Wasps started off with two runs in the 1st inning. Taylei Williams hit a home run over the Azomite banner. They racked up three more runs in the 3rd inning. Williams shutout the Hawks from the mound. They racked up 10 hits in the game. In the Canyon View game, the Lady Wasps scored 8 runs in the first two innings and added five more at the end of the 5th. Canyon View got on the board in the 4th inning with 1 run and added two more in the 5th. Final score was 13-3 for Juab. The team got 11 hits. Kloie Park and Taelyn Ballow each had 4 RBIs, and Kaitlyn Sperry had 3 RBIs. Williams was the winning pitcher. Senior players were honored at the final game and they are Mikenlee Bryan, Taylei Williams, Olivia Durbin, Lydia Douglas and Sarah Harmon. The team is currently ranked number one in the 3A rankings as they head into the state tournament this weekend. They will play Hurricane at noon on May 13 here at Juab.
