Painter Motor Company, Nephi and Saint George, got a double whammy last week when they were notified on Thursday by the Chrysler Corporation and on Friday by General Motors that they were to lose their dealerships in Nephi and Saint George
. Painters have been in business in Nephi since 1945 when they opened on south Main street in Nephi and were among the 10 dealerships in Utah and 789 dealers nationwide that were notified on Thursday that they will lose Chrysler dealership in June at both it Nephi and Saint George locations.
On Friday the other shoe dropped when Painters were notified that they would lose their GM dealership in Nephi in 2010.
When contacted on Monday by The Times-News, Painters did not have any comment.
