Edna Pearmain
1921-2011
Edna Charsty Pearmain, passed away peacefully in Nephi, Utah, on January 13, 2011. She was born in Fountain Green, Utah, August 17, 1921 to Richard and Hannah Olson Pearmain. Edna grew up in Fountain Green, Utah, and received her education in Moroni, Utah, and later at LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked at Hill Field during WWII. then later worked for the Bureau of Mines until she retired. She loved living in Salt Lake City and had many friends. She loved genealogy and spent many hours doing family history. She traveled to England and Sweden searching for information pertaining to the genealogy of her ancestors. She also traveled to Israel and many places in the United States.
She is survived by a sister, Louise Parkin, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and two brothers, Arthur and Woodrow.

Funeral Services will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N., Nephi, UT on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing one hour prior. Burial will be in the Fountain Green City Cemetery.
Merrill C. Newren
Merrill C. Newren passed away due to complications from heart disease on January 16, 2011 in his home in Holladay, Utah, at the age of 85. Merrill married Marjorie Keyte of Mona, Utah.
Together they are the parents of three children: Gary (Rosalind), Brent (Lori), Janet (JB) Henriksen. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, his younger brother Leslie Newren, 3 children, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be January 21, 2011 at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, Utah, between 6 and 8 p.m. Services will be held at the East Millcreek 2nd Ward, located at 3750 South Hillside Lane (2500 East) at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing one hour prior to service.
Jerry Brock
1937-2010
Gerald "Jerry" Phillip Brock, 73, passed away on November 5, 2010 at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City. He was born in San Bernardino, Calif. on June 6, 1937. After graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, and did two tours of duty in Vietnam. After 20 years in the Corps he decided to retire.
Jerry worked as a truck driver and mechanic until he became too ill with arthritis to continue. He has lived in Tustin, Calif, Albuquerque, New Mexico and finally settled in Nephi, Utah. He was very active with the VFW and American Legion in Nephi and was well-known to many of the residents of Nephi.
Jerry is survived by his son, David Brian Brock, 46, a grandson Jerry Joe Brock, 23. He also has two brothers, Lloyd Brock, Redlands Calif. and Robert Brock, San Diego, Calif.
We'd like to express a special thanks to Cory and Kim Sly of Nephi, who helped Jerry through some very difficult times over the past few years. They were true friends.
A memorial service will be held in the spring. Location will be announced at that time.
Melvina S. Bowles
1923-2011
Emma Melvina Stanley Bowles, age 87, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away January 15, 2011 at her home in Elk Ridge, Utah.
She was born February 26, 1923 in Nephi, Utah, to William Melvin and Adelia Tolley Stanley. She married Charles Roy Bowles October 2, 1941 in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple July 23, 1942. He passed away August 12, 2004.
She was a member of the LDS church and served in many callings. She was a school crossing guard for 20 years. She enjoyed working with her husband as custodian of the Historic 2nd/8th Ward building in Springville for 17 years. She loved quilting and surprised all her children and grandchildren with quilts. After moving to Elk Ridge she converted her garage into a party room and loved having all the family and her girl friends for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and any celebration she could come up with.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Adamson; Marilyn (Terry) Frost; Maxyne (Lee) Haskell; Christine (Scott) Hill; Chuck (Linda) Bowles; 23 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Max Norton and Blaine Norton; granddaughter, Amy Haskell; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011, in the Elk Ridge 6th Ward, 185 East Ridgeview Dr., Elk Ridge, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Nephi City Cemetery.
