The Red Creek Slump on the Mt. Nebo Scenic Byway will be repaired. The road along the "S" curves is falling away and needs to be permanently dealt with.
A book entitled "75th Ute Stampede:A Diamond Jubilee" will be available for sale. It is a pictorial history of the Ute Stampede in Nephi.
Elden Johnson was named Grand Marshal for the Ute Stampede Western Parade.
Jeff Sanders was selected Grand Marshal for the Ute Stampede Mammoth Parade.
Queen Amy Manseau, Tiffany Manseau and Paris Knickerbocker reigned over the 2010 Ute Stampede.
There are financial concerns with the city providing funding for the annual Mammoth Parade. Paying for bands to travel and participate in the parade, emcees and sound systems along the parade route top the concerns.
Nephi City Police Department joined the VIPS, a national program. The program defines a volunteer in police service without promise, expectation, or compensation for services.
Kathleen Kay was selected Grand Marshal for the Mona Pioneer Day Parade.
Barnes Bullets originally chose not to be annexed into Mona City, but has now changed their decision and requested to be annexed.
Freedom Group, Inc. has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire certain assets of Barnes Bullets.

John Kuhni Sons Inc., an animal rendering facility, hired a bankruptcy attorney.
Barnes Bullets annexation petition was certified and accepted by the Mona City Council.
Camee Coombs is crowned Miss Juab County 2010. Attendants are Madison Finch and Emma Clement.
Mosquito abatement program stirred up a heated controversy over the use of pesticides.
Mona City adopted a nuisance ordinance that will prohibit loud, excessive, unnecessary noises, and unsightly property.
A fence across a prescribed county road prompted county commissioners to request that Jared Eldridge, county attorney, send a letter to the property owner to meet with commissioners. Brooks was defensive and did not think that the general public had a right to use motorized vehicles on the roadway.
The Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah's stage two included a pass through Nephi, through Salt Creek Canyon, then up the Nebo Loop Road to a mountain-top finish. Levi Leipheimer won the stage.
Nephi City gave approval for a Halloween Town celebration.

The Utah State Driver License office in Nephi is back in business. Hours: Every Tuesday and 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Should Nephi City Council plan for long-term use of the Old Gym as a recreation center or should the council plan to make-do with the facility until something more can be built?
Paul Sutorius and Jerry Weir received the Legacy Award at the JHS Homecoming game.
Local law enforcement added Rambo to assist in the war against drugs. UHP trooper Dustin Livingston will team with Rambo to support local agencies.

It is going to take a lawsuit to get the water promised to East Juab County by the Central Utah Project and the water users in the Levan area want the suit to be submitted immediately.
The Nebo Loop Road will not be closed during the deer hunt. Repairing the Red Creek Slump has been postponed until Spring.
Halloween Town declared a success. Mayor Jones asks parents to take their children out on Saturday to Trick or Treat.
Some residents were appalled by the graphic and frightening nature of Halloween Town. However, the comments in support of the display out-numbered the complaints.
Rick Robins, JHS Principal, had concerns with the new realignment procedure being considered by the Utah High School Activities Association.
Bessie Park was named Utah Museum Association's Volunteer of the Year.

Citizens of Mona are asked to hurry the surveys along so that the community may qualify for a CDBG to help moderate to lower income residents install sewer lines.
Randy Brooks built a home on Mount Nebo above the plant in the canyon area of the mountain. He then posted signs that the property was private and gated the road providing access to a 160-acre Fish and Game property and to Forest Service land. A contingent of Mona residents protested the denial of access to a county road that has been used for many years. Brooks proclaimed "It's either stay out or I'll see you in court."
JHS presents "The Music Man."
A public hearing was held to take public comment on a proposed Yuba Dam Spillway.

Several extremely valuable paintings, once in the possession of Juab High School, are missing. Nephi Police are seeking help for the return on the art works.
The construction phase of building the infrastructure for the Mona sewer system is now underway.
There is plenty of room in the old ballpark for a playground, soccer, flag football and other sports.
Ute Stampede Committee approached the Juab County Commission about adding an arena motocross event to the summer line-up.
Both Juab County and Nephi City now have an ordinance forbidding the abuse of intoxicating chemical substances. The ordinance will make the use of hallucinogens, commonly called Spice illegal.
The problem a group of Mona residents have with a land-owner blocking a road providing access to areas on Mt. Nebo is that he is breaking the law.
In 2012, full funding of PILT expires. It is Federal payments to local governments that help offset losses in property taxes due to nontaxable Federal lands within their boundaries.
BLM Utah set a record with seven new species of dinosaur in 2010.
