A meeting with Juab County Commissioners has been
arranged to discuss the addition of a crosswalk in Mona.
Doug Bassett (not the same person as a Mona resident
of the same name), Utah Department of Transportation
Director for Region Three, of which Juab County is a part,
sent a letter to the council explaining a traffic study
which had been made.
"They said the study indicated that the roadway did
not warrant a crosswalk," said Rick Schnurr, council member.
"They will let us build one there provided we furnish all
the money to build it."
"The state will not put any of their resources toward
it.
The crosswalk, which the council would like to put in,
would be located at 200 East and 200 North on State Route
54.
"We will be meeting with the county commission to see
what they can and will do to help us," said Schnurr.
He said representatives of the Mona Elementary parent
group would attend the meeting with him and would present
the case to the commission.
