Nelly K. Ingram
1916-2010
On August 9, Nelly Ingram passed away peacefully surrounded by family and returned to her Heavenly Father.
Nelly was born September 22, 1916 into an LDS family in Amsterdam, the oldest of six girls and one boy. She was very proud to be the first lady missionary in Amsterdam. Our mom met the love of her life and husband of 72 years while he served his mission in Holland. Our dad sent for our mom in 1938 and were married in Nephi and later solemnized in the Manti Temple where they both worked for a while. They were later able to help get the rest of the family to the United States after the war was over.
Nelly was very proud of her Dutch heritage and never stopped telling anyone who would listen about her homeland. Our mom was always there for us kids and taught us the meaning of hard work and responsibilities. Everyone that knew her always knew where they stood. She was a very direct lady. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
Preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Tom, one sister and one brother. Survived by four sisters; son, Neil (Margo); daughters, Sanoma (Bert, Anita (Bob); several grandchildren and great-grand children.
Services were held Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South Sandy, UT 84092. Interment was at Larkin Sunset Gardens. Condolences may be made at Larkincares.com.
