Luana Green
1928-2010

Luana Ockey Green, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died July 28, 2010, at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah. Luana was born March 12, 1928 in Nephi, Utah, to James Heber and Susan Viola Worthington Ockey. She attended the local schools, Snow College and BYU. She met Von Allan Green while at Snow College, and they were married July 20, 1949 in the Manti Temple. They resided in Ephraim, Utah, for the rest of their married life. They are the parents of five children.
Luana always had a joke to tell and had a great sense of humor. She loved children and had day-care in her home. She was a fabulous cook and many people were the recipients of her generosity.
A member of the LDS Church, Luana taught Pimary for over 25 years, and was a dedicated Visiting Teacher. She loved to sing and was a member of the Singing Mothers and she and Allan were long-time members of the ward choir.
Allan and Luana were members of a supper club. They enjoyed the members, the fun and the food for over forty years. They also enjoyed camping for a week each summer with the Willdens, Baileys and Nielsons out Wagon Road Ridge.  They also took vacation trips with these same families.
Luana's favorite pastimes were reading and quilting. Hardly anyone left her home without a book to read. She made quilts for anyone who asked. One of her quilts won the Best of Show at the Utah State Fair.
Luana is survived by her five children: Joe (Alicia) St. George, Utah; Myrna (Steve Fuller), Preston, Idaho; Janis (Rodney Brinkerhoff), Fairview, Utah; Molly (Darek Jurca), West Jordan, Utah; and Julie (James Custer), Falls Church, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one grand-dog; two sisters: Blanche Davis and Janet Rigby, and two brothers, Jim Ockey and Steven Ockey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan, her parents and one grandson.
Special thanks to Golden Skyline Assisted Living Center staff, Bonnie and Richard, and the many medical professionals who attended to her. Many thanks to Faye Truitt, Gina Larson, Cliff Wheeler, and the many people who came to visit her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ephraim First Ward, 420 North 200 West in Ephraim, Utah. Interment in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Online condolences at www.rasmussenmortuary.com.
