Jan and John Sutherland

John and Jan Sutherland have been chosen to be the Grand Marshals of the Mona Pioneer Day celebration.
John was born and raised in Mona. His parents are Bill and Pat Sutherland. John grew up helping his dad on the family farm. He has been employed at Sutherland Cabinet for over 20 years. John has served on the fire department for 30 years serving as fire chief for 27 years. John and the Mona Fire Department have set off some awesome fireworks the past few years. He has spent many hours loving every minute of serving on the fire department. He has also been a volunteer with the Juab County Search and Rescue and is a former city council member.
Jan Stephenson Sutherland was born and raised in Nephi. Her parents are Jim and Janice Stephenson. Jan has been lucky enough to be employed as a lunch lady at Mona Elementary School for the past 20 years.
John and Jan have been married for the past 30 years. They have raised their family of four children in Mona: Whitney, Casey, Shelbey, and Opie. They have two sons-in-law, Wootton and Gavin. They are proud grandparents of six beautiful grandchildren: Parker, Whitlee, Wren, Teagon, Paisley, and Wrylee.
John and Jan are honored to be chosen as the Grand Marshals of the 2016 Mona 24th of July celebration.
