  • Mona City Pioneer Day celebration schedule



MONA PIONEER DAY ROYALTY • The royalty for the Mona Pioneer Day celebration has been announced. They are Kaydon Fowkes, top left, son of Cody and Adrianne Fowkes; Porter Wohlforth, son of Adam and Crystal Wohlforth; Ty Warburton, son of Taylor and Liesl Warburton. Austyn Lewis, bottom left, daughter of Justin and April Lewis; Absidee Canto, daughter of Tony and Ciji Canto; Kaitlyn Samuelson, daughter of John and Sara Samuelson.

Mona City will hold its Pioneer Day celebration on July 22 and 23. The schedule is as follows:
Friday, July 22
• 5:00 p.m.—Classic Car Show
• 6:00 p.m.—Senior Citizens Appreciation Dinner. $10 per person, $5 for Seniors and children 12 and under
• 7-9:00 p.m.—Movie in the park, "Star Wars"
Saturday, July 23
• 7:00 a.m.—5K Starts
• 8:00 a.m.—Pancake Fundraiser breakfast for Fire Chief John Sutherland, $5 suggested donation
Flag raising ceremony provided by the Utah Firefighters Emerald Society
Car Show
• 10:00 a.m.—Parade begins: lineup will begin at 9:30. Parade will proceed down Main Street to 100 N.
• 11-2:00 p.m.—Pioneer Village, free family games
Entertainment: Hypno Hick
Co-ed Softball Tournament
• 12:00 p.m.—Entertainment: Highway 91
• 12:30 p.m.—Entertainment: Annette Shaw
• 2:00 p.m.—Greased Pig Cash Run, $5 pre-registration and release form
Watermelon eating contest: sponsored by the DUP
• 2:15 p.m.—Entertainment: Hypno Hick
• 3:15 p.m.—Mona's Got Talent Show:
• 5:00 p.m.—Entertainment: Opening act Sheryse Linton; Main performers: Molly in the Mineshaft (bluegrass band)
• 7:10 p.m.—Pie Eating Contest
• 7:30-8:30 p.m.—Co-ed softball tournament final game
• 8:30 p.m.—Western Dance
• Dark—Fireworks
• 11:00 p.m.—Youth Dance
