- Mona City to celebrate Pioneer Days on July 24-25

Come out and celebrate Pioneer Day at the Mona City Park on July 24 and 25. The schedule of events is as follows:
Friday, July 24—6:00 p.m. Senior Appreciation Dinner. $10 per person, $5 for Seniors. Serving 6-7 p.m.
6-9:00 p.m. Wild Wonders (Animal Show)
Dark: Movie in the Park—Big Hero 6. Snacks and drinks will be sold with proceeds going to the Veterans Memorial
Saturday, July 25—7:00 a.m. 5K run, proceeds go to Veterans Memorial. Contact Shawn Keyte 623-5072 for more info.
8:00 a.m. Fun Run (ages 12 and under). Awards will be presented after flag raising.
8:30 a.m. Flag raising ceremony
10:00 a.m. "Let Freedom Ring" parade begins. (Contact Jonathan Jones 801-787-2512 for more info)
DUP store opens with handmade crafts and goodies. DUP cabin will open by request.
11:00 a.m. Snack shack open—proceeds go to Veterans Memorial
11-4:00 p.m. Inflatable ride, face painting, photo booth. Wristbands can be purchased at the east door of the city office on the day of the celebration or during office hours prior to celebration. All children participating in vendor activities must have a wristband.
11:00 a.m. Jr. Livestock Sheep Show (Contact Lisa Kay 435-979-0621 for more info)
2:00 p.m. Talent Show (Contact Sara Samuelson 623-2531 for more info)
3:00 p.m. Kids race with the Mayor
4:00 p.m. Drawings and announcement of parade winners, sheep show winners
8:30 p.m. Western Dance—Come kick up your heels until the fireworks start. Music provided by Jason Gibson.
Dark—Fireworks presented by Mona Fire Department. Glow sticks, drinks will be sold just before at the snack shack—proceeds go to Veterans Memorial.
