  • Kathleen Kay selected as Grand Marshal for the Mona Pioneer Day Parade

kay

Kathleen Hansen Kay was raised on a cattle ranch in Vernon. At seventeen she married Maurice Kay and moved to Mona. She has lived in Mona for most of her life.
She is the mother of six children, has 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She often jokes that she is the mother of Kay Enterprises, the business her sons founded and operate.
She helped her husband with his orchard and farm until his passing a little over a year ago.
She loves Mt. Nebo and has been one of the most prolific artists of the mountain. She has painted some 40 portraits of the great sentinel. She helped produce the 'Welcome to Mona' signs and designed the letterhead for Mona City.
Her love of the mountain and the valley below has inspired her to write and produce the Mt. Nebo Pageant that was presented in 1996 for the State Centennial Celebration and again in 2000 for the ushering in of the new millennium.
Many of her historic writings and town stories have appeared in LDS Church newsletters.
She has been involved in music and literature and has won several Stake competitions in these areas.
