Jamie Garrett, Juab County Fair Manager, and Lou Ann Thalman, Juab County Fair Board President, presented the annual check from the Juab County Fair for $10,000 to Chad Winn, commission chairman.
The money is the contracted amount the fair board pays annually to the county as their portion of the cost of the new bleachers at the county fairgrounds.
"The money was generated at the Juab County Demolition Derby," said Garrett.
The county fair sponsors the Demolition Derby each year in the arena at the fairgrounds. This year the event is set for August 10.
"We have a list of volunteers we also would like to present for the commission to ratify," said Garrett.
The volunteers, approximately 50 of them, will be working during the Juab Xtreme Racing to be held on June 29 at the fairgrounds arena.
This year, she said, the food concessions were awarded to bidders and will not be run by volunteers.
"We will have three food concession booths and two snack concession booths," said Garrett.
The booths are all operated by different bidders.
"We would like to thank the fair board and Jamie Garrett for all of the work it takes to make the events successful," said Winn.
Juab County Fair is an annual draw with more than 4,000 exhibits which includes livestock, clothing, floriculture, food, needlework, fine arts, photography, hobbies and handicrafts, woodworking, fruits and vegetables, crops, FFA, 4-H projects, poultry and rabbits.
Events during the fair, in addition to the Demolition Derby, have included in the past: Ranch Rodeo, ATV Rodeo, Horse shows, Fair Factor, Roping Events, Western Night Rodeo, Junior Talent Find, Jr. Livestock Auction, Miss Juab County Queen Scholarship Pageant, 4-H Fashion Revue, Bicycle Barrel Race, Toddler Tractor Pull, Movie Night, Livestock judging, 3-D Archery Shoot, Juab County Fair Idol contest, Jumper Show, Extreme Cowboy Horsemanship Challenge, Leadline, Zumba, Bunco Tournament, Robot Wars and live entertainment.
