WATCH OUT FOR MORE WILDFIRES• The burn scar just northeast of Bateman Dairy in Levan is showing some signs of life after a wildfirefire on July 24, 2014 destroyed 4,343 acres and subsequent rains caused mudslides and severe damage to neighboring fields and roads. The trees are still dead, but the undergrowth is coming back helping to stabilize the soil. BLM Director Neil Kornze recently took a tour of drought-stricken states, including Utah, and assessed the upcoming wildfire season. ""This fire season could be quite challenging, and we need to be coordinated and prepared," he said. Deputy Director Steve Ellis will meet with Juab County Commissioners and law enforcement to discuss local issues.
