Louise P. Parkin
1925~2015
Sarah Louise Pearmain Parkin passed away peacefully May 4th, 2015.
She was born June 23, 1925 in Fountain Green, Utah to Hannah Charlotta Olson and Richard Alfred Pearmain. She was the youngest of 4 children, Arthur, Woodrow, and Edna, who preceded her in death.
She was raised in Fountain Green, Utah where she attended elementary school, and attended high school in Moroni, Utah. Her childhood memories included thinning sugar beets, trading an egg for penny candy at Nielsen's Grocery Store, dances in Moroni, lots of friends and favorite teachers.
Once she met Harold Parkin, from Nephi, at a dance, her heart was set. She never wanted anyone else. They were married in the living room of her parent's home on July 31, 1942. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple on February 5, 1951. Together they raised five children. Nancy (Ramon) Memmott, Diana (Duane) Painter, Steven (Joann) Parkin, Hanalee (Gary, deceased) Swenson, and Jim (Julie) Parkin.
She worked outside of the home at a number of part-time jobs, including Juab County Hospital, Nephi Credit Union, and a local insurance company. Her first priority was always caring for her family.
Louise was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She faithfully served in numerous church callings.
Her crowning achievement was her five children, 19 grand children, 40 great grand children, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, an infant son (Jeffery), and a son-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 in the Nephi 5th Ward, 345 East 500 North. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi and at the church one hour prior to the services.
