The bid for the irrigation sprinkler system and the city
golf course was awarded to Turf Sprinkler Company for the
low bid of $369,975.
"The high bid for the project was $498,000," said Blair
Painter, city recorder and finance director.
The bid awarded for the project represented a substantial
savings over the high bid, he said.
There were eight bids submitted for the project. At
Tuesday's meeting, council members, approved the contract
with Turf Sprinkler Company.
The company has obtained bond for the project and a
contract with the company has been prepared.
"We need a motion to proceed," said Randy McKnight, city
administrator.
Council members agreed to provide the motion and voted
affirmatively in favor of the project proceeding as outlined
in the bid specifications.
"The deadline for completion of the project is August 1,
2003," said McKnight.
