A contract with the engineering firm of Cramer and Noble
was approved at Tuesday's Nephi City council meeting.
The council also authorized the mayor to sign the
contract for engineering services for the first phase of
construction at Nephi City Airport.
"All phases are completed except for the construction
phase," said Randy McKnight, city administrator. "The
project has been broken into phases because of federal
funding requirements."
The first phase will consist of grading the runway,
establishing and providing electrical service for lighting,
and the constructing the perimeter fencing.
"The city must contract for each phase," said
McKnight.
He said that, in the next three weeks, bids would be
announced for the coming work.
"Cramer and Noble will make a recommendation for who
to award the bids and will make certain the bids answer
federal regulations as well as sticking to cost
restrictions," said McKnight.
