Norma Jenkins
Norma Christiansen Jenkins, passed away on Saturday, May
10, 2003, at Central Valley Medical Center, Nephi, Utah, of
complications incident to age.
She was born Feb. 15, 1921 in Centerfield, Utah, to
James Henry and Gertrude Hansene Jahn Christiansen. At age
15, she moved with her family to Nephi, where she graduated
from Juab High School and Juab Stake Seminary. She has
worked at the Commercial Bank, J.C. Penny Co., and First
Security Bank. She married Joseph Barres Jenkins on Aug. 15,
1945 in Nephi, and was sealed to him in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple on Aug. 15, 1946. They lived in Kirkland, Washington,
for several years and then returned to Nephi.
She served in many LDS Church callings including,
Relief Society President (twice) and ordinance worker in the
Manti LDS Temple. She was a long-time member of the American
Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Variette Civic
Club. She loved cooking and gardening.
Norma is survived by her husband; daughter, Claudia J.
(Roger) Allen of West Jordan; son, Joseph Charles (Ellen)
Jenkins of Nephi; sister, Alice C. Belliston of Nephi;
foster daughter, Lorraine (Kris) Swenson of Orem; 21
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wesley
Jahn, Raymond Woodrow, and Harry Henry; a son, James Richard
Jenkins.
Funeral services were held May 13, 2003 in the Nephi
Stake Center. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi.
Richard Hone
Richard Lynn Hone, age 49, passed away May 9, 2003 in
Nephi, Utah. He was born Jan. 12, 1954 in Payson, Utah to
Lynn G. and Luella Foote Hone.
He is survived by his parents, Lynn and Luella Hone of
Payson; sister, Kathy Willis; brother, Mark E. Hone;
children, Trisha Rossol, Elizabeth Eno, Nava Hone, Michael
Hone, Arianna Hone and David Hone. He was preceded in death
by a son, Dylan Hone.
Funeral services were held May 13, 2003 in the Sunset
Heights 10th Ward, Orem, Utah. Interment in Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi.
Alan Dawson Jr.
Alan "Dale" Dawson, Jr. passed away at home on May 4.
2003 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born Sept. 5,
1077 in Nephi, Utah, to Alan and Terri Dawson, He married
Hannah Flowers on Sept. 30, 2000.
As a faithful servant of Jehovah, Dale was baptized on
April 12, 2003. Dale loved the outdoors: fishing,
snowboarding, rock climbing, camping and waterskiing. Dale
also , enjoyed many home activities such as cooking and
woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Hannah and his two
daughters, Madeleine and
Amanda; parents, Alan (Ellen) Dawson of Mona, Terri (Ray)
Lewis of West Valley; sister, Erica Dawson. He was preceded
in death by his grandfathers, Paul Dawson and Robert
Larson.
Memorial services were held May 10, 2003 at the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, American Fork.
Wall Bryan
Wallace (Wall) Bryan left his loved ones after a
courageous fight with cancer on May 9, 2003. He was at his
home and surrounded by his family.
Wall was born October 7, 1920 to Willis Bryan and
Elizabeth "Jenny" Stevenson in Nephi, Utah. He spent all of
his life in Nephi except for his time in the military. He
served during World War II in the Pacific Islands with is
twin brother and best friend Willis "Will" Bryan. He was a
member of the LDS Church. Wall was a hard worker and retired
from NRP. He married Lucille Tolley Boss and helped her
raise her six children. He was the father of one daughter,
Walline, but loved and worried about all of the children and
grandchildren as if they were his own.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; daughters,
Walline (Blake) Broadhead of Brigham City, Linda (Kevin)
Butler, Patty Boss, and Carol (Bill) Ballard, all of Nephi,
Mary (Ron) Ivory of Fountain Green; sons, Clay Boss of
Nephi, and Craig (Sue) Boss of Santaquin; 15 grandchildren;
and 24 great-grandchildren; brother, Evan (Reva) Bryan of
Mona; and sister Ruth Jennings of Salt Lake; many nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Brothers
Hyrum (Hum), Rex, Willis "Will", and Robert. Two grandsons
Steven Hansen and Brian Ivory.
Funeral services were held Monday May 12, at 11:00.
a.m at the Anderson Funeral Home 94 West 300 North Nephi. A
viewing was held Sunday May 11, from 6:00-7:00 and one hour
prior to services.
Christina Allred
Christina Lee Wight Allred, age 53, passed away on May
12, 2003 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.
She was born March 9, 1951 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to
Joseph Martin and Ila Mary Thompson Wight. She married
Ronald Arthur Allred May 24, 1969. She was the mother of
eleven children, Rhonda (Brady), Ronald (Ruth), Julianne,
Jason, Michael, Amber, Adam (Sandra), Marillee, Joseph,
Christina and Shannon. She was the grandmother to six.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May
16, 2003 in the MLA Chapel at Rocky Ridge, Utah. Friends may
call Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Rocky Ridge and one
hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the Rocky
Ridge Cemetery.
