Lyn Bonner, developer of High Meadows Subdivision,
will now develop just 22 lots instead of the 30 he first
proposed two weeks ago.
Bonner received permission to proceed with a revised
plan for the subdivision at Mona City Council meeting on
Tuesday.
"I appreciate the council agreeing to allow the
development of Plat A," said Bonner.
At meeting two weeks ago, Bonner was told he must
either cut back by eliminating the one section of his
subdivision or must obtain permission to build a road.
After a public meeting and a lengthy discussion at the
prior council meeting, one option remained.
It was decided that, if Bonner could not receive the
needed permission to complete a road which would be
partially on property he does not control, Bonner could
re-number the plat phases.
Plat A will have all its own roads, which are built on
the interior of the planned subdivision. There will be no
problem in getting those roads completed, said Bonner.
Under the reconfiguration, Plat A will allow the
development of 22 lots.
The roads issues had made the development of the
property fairly difficult, said Bonner.
"I am glad that you did not require me to develop
Platt Lane," said Bonner. "It makes more sense that whoever
develops the property south of Platt Lane should finish
Platt Lane."
A mylar was prepared for the subdivision and was
signed by the mayor and council. The subdivision can now
begin development.
Platt Lane, named after an early resident, Jim Platt,
development was also not required of Bonner.
The road there should have fallen on others to
complete as part of earlier subdivision developments,
council members agreed.
An adjustment was made, said Bonner, to allow the
development of 22 lots as part of Plat A, rather than the 18
first proposed for that phase.
"I appreciate the city giving us a little time to
resolve the road issue with the Howard Newton family," he
said.
