  • CVMC welcomes twins as First Babies born in 2015

TWINS ARE 2015 NEW YEAR'S BABIES • Twin boys, Masiel and Mizael Najera, left and right respectively, were the first babies of 2015 born in Juab County. They were born on January 1. Their parents are Miguel and Maria Najera.

"Why ring in the New Year with one birthday when you can celebrate with two instead?" remarked CVMC Labor & Delivery Nurse, Torie Jacobson. And, that's exactly what happened. Twin boys arrived on Thursday, January 1, 2015 and were the first babies of the New Year born in Juab County.
Baby boy number one, pictured on the left, is Masiel Najera. He weighed in at 5 pounds 10 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. Baby boy number two, pictured on the right, Mizael Najera weighed in at 5 pounds 13 ounces and measured 20 inches in length. The twins were born just two minutes apart at 7:21 a.m. and 7:23 a.m. Proud parents are Miguel and Maria Najera.
"This has been a super fun experience to have twins born as our first babies of the New Year," noted Heidi Kelso, Marketing Director, "I think the nursing staff secretly hoped all along that the twins would be our big winners this year."
CVMC provided a generous $500 discount on the hospital bill for each of the New Year's babies. Along with this discount, the hospital donated a case of diapers and baby wipes, 1 box each of adult and children's masks to help protect the new baby from influenza, 2 bottles of Avagard hand sanitizer, a case of baby powder, baby lotion and baby wash, 2 giant containers of Sani-wipes, and 2 cases of formula.
Local businesses that provided donations this year include: Reed's Drive-In, Nephi Western Credit Union, Central Utah Public Health, Movies Plus/Lotsa Motsa, Choice Hardware/Do-it-Best, Mt Nebo Market, Mid States Consultants, Nephi Floral, Utah Community Credit Union and Boutique on Main.
