Doris Boswell
1929-2006
Doris Anna Rasmussen Sorensen Christensen Boswell was
born Dec. 17, 1929 in Fountain Green, Utah, the 5th child of
Ivan Victor and Etta Crowther Rasmussen. She died October
29, 2006 at her home in Fountain Green, surrounded by her
family.
Doris married Morris Sorensen in 1948 who died of
nephritis that same year. On Sept. 16, 1949, she married
Merlin V. Christensen. He was killed in a motorcycle
accident in May of 1974. On Jan. 7, 1981, she married Lee
Boswell and in May of 1984 this marriage also came to an end
when Lee died of a massive heart attack.
Doris attended school in Fountain Green and Moroni.
She had a great love for music and sang in chorus, trios and
double trios with friends and family. She was active in the
LDS Church, serving as a primary chorister in Moroni, Kearns
and Fountain Green. She also served as the Stake Relief
Society Chorister for several years. She taught primary,
young women's and worked in the extraction program which she
loved very much. She also helped with the single adult group
and was a visiting teacher. She loved her family very much
and enjoyed the times when her children and grandchildren
were around. She also had a great love for her brothers and
sisters and was always so grateful for all of their
visits.
She is survived by her son, David Merlin (Linda)
Christensen; daughter, Betty Nicholls; 10 grandchildren and
23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters,
Joyce (Maben) Hafen and Camille (John) Fields and brother
Karl (Gail Ann) Rasmussen. Along with her husbands, she was
preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann Sorensen
Robertson and son- in-law, Lynn Robertson; grandson, Gary
Lynn Robertson; great-granddaughter, Aspen Nicholls; 2
brothers, Victor Rasmussen and Gayle Rasmussen and a sister,
Ruby Mangelson. Funeral services will be held Thursday
November 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ft. Green LDS
Chapel.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday
from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Ft. Green LDS Church.
Interment in the Moroni City Cemetery under the care of
Rasmussen Mortuary. Special thanks to Hospice and Home
Health Care for their love and concern at our mothers
passing.
Ellen B. Nielson
1931-2006
Ellen "Mike" Bita Ballow Bowles Nielson, age 75,
passed away on October 26, 2006 in Salt Lake City. Born
April 15, 1931 in Levan, Utah, to Frank and Bita Escimia
Ballow. She married Eldon Bowles on August 17, 1951 in the
Manti LDS Temple. He died January 13, 1985. Ellen married
Bevan Nielson on July 11, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ellen was a hair dresser for 35 years. Served in many
callings in the LDS Church. Was a gourmet cook. Loved her
flowers and garden. Was an avid Antiquer. She loved serving
her many friends. She was always current with the latest
fashion trend. Lived life to the fullest and had a
contagious laugh. She was an eloquent speaker, had a
charming sense of humor, and always was the life of the
party. Ellen was a wonderful mom, grandma and
great-grandma.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bevin Nielson;
children, Jeffrey E. (Nedra) Bowles, Gunnison, UT; Leslie B.
(Russell) Petersen, Draper; Alison H. (Jack) Nielsen, Sandy;
Brooke (Terrall) Christensen, Garden City, UT; Brenda J.
(Wade) Pierce, SLC; Diane Evans, Evanston, WY; Sandra D.
(Mike) Ferrell, Leamington, UT; 20 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren; brother, Pete (Melba) Ballow of
Levan.
Funeral services were held Monday October 30, 2006 at
11 a.m. at the Nephi 7th Ward LDS Chapel, 351 N. 100 W.
Friends called on Sunday October 29, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the
Nickle Mortuary, Delta and Monday at the church from
9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial was in the Nephi Cemetery.
