Floyd ElRay (Zeke) Swasey
1932-2006
Floyd ElRay (Zeke) Swasey, our brother and uncle
passed away suddenly on October 13 in Provo, Utah. He was
born on April 8, 1932 in Mona, Utah, to Floyd and LaVon Rowe
Swasey.
Zeke attended school in Mona and graduated from Juab
High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the
U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his
years in the Navy he worked at various jobs. He eventually
was employed by U.S. Steel at Geneva. He retired from there
after many years of service. He also was a rancher and
cattleman. He raised many fine quarter horses. He was a
member of the LDS church.
In his younger days Zeke enjoy baseball, dancing, nice
clothes and cars, hunting and fishing. As he grew older his
heart belonged to his farm.
Zeke is survived by two brothers, Vernon (Sandra) of
Fairview, Clyde (Kathy) of Ridgecrest, CA; three sisters,
Ireata (DeLynn) Hansen of Springville, Shelia (Gary) Hansen
of Vancouver, WA, Charlene (Robert) Nielson of Mona and many
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,
brother, Florin (Poge) J. Swasey, and sister Joyce (Jim)
Pay.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, 12 noon October
17, 2006 at the LDS Mona 1st/2nd Ward Church. Burial at the
Mona City Cemetery under the direction of the Anderson
Funeral Home.
