Nephi's postponed 4th of July fireworks will be held, in part, this month as part of the Juab High Homecoming game. "Because of hazardous conditions in early July, Nephi City decided to
postpone the traditional 4th of July fireworks show," said Randy McKnight, city administrator. "The council has decided to provide some of those fireworks to be used
as part of the Juab High School homecoming celebration this year," McKnight said.
The remainder of the fireworks purchased in 2012 to be used on the 4th will be stored and used as part the 4th of July fireworks show in 2013.
The homecoming football game is scheduled for the evening of Friday, September 14. "The fireworks will be incorporated into the festivities at that football game," said McKnight.
Nephi City Fire Chief Richard Anderson is working with Dr. Rick Robins and his staff to plan the specific timing of the fireworks display that night. |
