Molli Graham was sworn into office on Tuesday, August 28, by Lyla Spencer, Mona City Recorder.
Graham was selected for the position to replace Philip Bandley, Mona City Council member, who officially resigned from his elected position as of August 1.
Following the ceremony which took place just after the council reviewed the minutes from their last meeting, Graham took her place at the council table.
"We want to thank Molli Graham for stepping up to the plate and being willing to serve on the council," said Bill Mills, mayor.
"I appreciate the opportunity and all the confidence you had in me to vote me in," said Graham.
Graham, said Mills, will be over animal control and will represent the city as a non-voting appointee to the planning commission.
"We would like you to attend all the meetings and represent the city," said Mills.
Lynn Ingram (planning commission chairman), meets with the council at each council meeting and he will continue to do so.
Graham has been an appointee on the planning commission for the past two years and said she was happy to continue to meet with them, though in a different capacity.
"I am also looking forward to serving with the council," she said.
Graham's husband and children attended the swearing-in ceremony in support of Graham.
