Norman L. Anderson
1930-2010


Norman LaVar Anderson, age 79, passed away July 1, 2010 in Nephi, Utah.
He was born November 16, 1930 in Marysvale, Utah, to LaVar and Edith Virginia Memmott Anderson. He married Eunice Lousie Scott and she passed away in 1959. He married Ilene Park June 3, 1963 in Nephi, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple June 3, 1964.
He was an active member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings. He graduated from Millard High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Utah Highway Patrol after 31 years, and served as Juab County Assessor for 8 years. He was an accomplished boxer at the division, region and state levels. He competed in the Golden Gloves Championship and only lost one bout in his entire career. Norm was given the opportunity to train and box professionally, but chose to fight crime instead.
Survived by his wife Ilene; sons, Dale N. (Rose) Anderson,  Douglas S. Anderson, and David C. (Alison) Anderson; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Con Anderson. Preceded in death by a brother, Thomas; sister, Claudine Dabbling; granddaughter, Emma.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, in the Nephi 5th Ward, 345 East 500 North. Family and friends may call from 9:45- 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Nephi City Cemetery.


Gordon Merrill Jenkins
1962-2010


Gordon Merrill Jenkins, age 47, passed away July 1, 2010 in Nephi, Utah.
He was born September 16, 1962 in Nephi, Utah, to Merrill Maurice and Linda Mary Morgan Jenkins. He married Gina Lyne Stephensen October 5, 1984 in Levan, Utah.
Gordon was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father, spending many hours 4-wheeling, camping, hunting, and riding horses with Gina and Lynzee. Lynzee is his "Little Angel" he waited a long time to become her "Daddy". His favorite thing to do was playing ball with Lynzee and watching her ride her horse Jazz. His passion in life was working with his horses and cows at his little farm in Levan. Gordon worked construction for many years, and loved to operate heavy equipment. He enjoyed spending time at "the Desert" with his many friends. We are sure he is happy now with his Dad and Grandma Nina. We love him very much and will miss him.
 He is survived by his wife, Gina; daughter, Lynzee; mother, Linda Jenkins; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Cindy Stephensen; sisters, Lynette (Jeff) Tuttle; Allison (Kevin) Squire; sister-in-laws, Teresa (Roy) Draper; Hiedee (Nathan) Oliver; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Merrill and grandparents, Elden and Nina Morgan and Homer and Ethel Jenkins.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in the Levan LDS Chapel. Interment in the Levan Cemetery.


Lynn A. Pace
1942-2010


Lynn Alan Pace passed away peacefully on July 2, 2010 of complications from pancreatic cancer.
He was born August 15, 1942 in Payson, Utah, to Lorenzo Alan and Elthora Sena Christensen Pace. He married Vernona Roberts,  March 19, 1966 in Elko, Nevada. They have a wonderful son, Jeffery Alan Pace.
He attended schools in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. He was a member of Friends of the Great Salt Lake, Utah Airboats, Ducks Unlimited, and season ticket holder with the University of Utah Basketball for over 30 years, and a big fan of NASCAR Racing. He loved riding out on the Great Salt Lake in the Airboat and waited the next waterfowl season. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Vernona; son, Jeffery Alan Pace, brother, Wayne (Sandy) Pace of Salt Lake City; sisters, Joanne Grace of Payson; Gail (Gordon) Barney of Pleasant Grove. Preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Dix Grace.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at the Hunter South Stake Center, 5180 West 4700 South. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening form 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State and one hour prior to services at the church.
