GRAND MARSHALS • Veda Parkin and Velda Hansen have been chosen as the Grand Marshals for the Mammoth Parade on Friday
Veda Parkin and Velda Hansen are well known around Nephi. All you have to say is “the twins” and everyone knows who you’re talking about.
They were born at home on a large ranch west of Vernal, Utah. As children and young women they were inseparable. As what usually happens in life, they were married and started families of their own, and for nearly forty years they lived apart. Well, as fate would have it, they are back together again, which they both say is a blessing.
You can see them always together where ever they go. At any given time you’ll see them walking the neighborhood waving, smiling and talking to everyone. They even pick up trash along the way. They are a joy to see and a breath of sunshine in Nephi. We are proud to have them as our dual Grand Marshals in our Mammoth parade this year.
