Stampede Surprise
The Ute Stampede Committee has arranged a "Surprise" for
everyone in attendance at the 70th Annual Ute Stampede Rodeo
on July 15, 16 and 17th. We will give a clue however, that
the people who will make this surprise event happen are from
Nevada and have just completed a 10 day run at the Reno
Rodeo. Billed as the "Worlds Richest Rodeo."
The Stampede Committee and Flying U Rodeo think you and
especially your children will enjoy this surprise.
Reita Creek Scoreboard
New this year, for the Ute Stampede, will be a
scoreboard, all the way from Cold Lake Alberta, Canada, for
your approval.
The scoreboard will be 16 feet wide and 11 feet tall. For
the rough stock events, it will post the score of the
contestant that has just completed their ride. It comes with
an electric eye for barrel racing that plugs into the time
clock and will time up to one hundredths of a second. The
average time that appears is official. Tie down roping, team
roping and steer wrestling will show the time of the
contestants run.
Mr. Shawn Metchewais will be the scoreboard operator. The
Ute Stampede will be just one of the 21 rodeos and P.B.R.
events that will showcase the scoreboard this year. The
committee hopes you will enjoy this addition.

Half A Buck Contest
A new event at the Ute Stampede Rodeo will be held for
kids, ten years old and under, on Friday night, July 16.
Wells Fargo Bank will contribute 200 fifty cent pieces. The
half dollars will be scattered in the arena for the kids to
find and claim. This event will take place after the bull
riding.
This same contest will be repeated for the mothers or for
any female over twenty five years of age. Wells Fargo will
again provide 200 fifty cent pieces for this event. Tripping
will not be allowed, but wrestling will be fine, as long as
it's fair. Have fun, get a giggle and enjoy.
A great big 'Thank You" to Wells Fargo Bank.
