Jay M. (Ike) Lunt has been named to be the Grand Marshal of the Ute Stampede Mammoth Parade on Friday.

Ike was born in Nephi and has spent most of his life here. He married Barbara Munk in 1949 and they have three children, Larry, Rodney and Billy. They are the proud grandparents of eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He owned and operated his own business for several years and also has done some farming.

Ike served as a Nephi City Councilman for four years and eight years as a Juab County Commissioner. He served his county in World War II and in Korea.

He has served for thirty-nine years on the Ute Stampede Committee as President, Vice-president, Secretary-Treasurer and as a director. We salute Mr. Lunt this year as Grand Marshal for the Mammoth Parade.
