  • Rodger Jarrett, Grand Marshal for Western Parade

Rodger Jarrett has been selected as the Grand Marshal for the 69th annual Ute Stampede Western Parade. His selection comes as a special honor since his father, Earl Jarrett, was selected to serve as Grand Marshal for this parade 15-years ago.

He has been a 30-year member of the Nephi Nebo Posse and has participated in many group outings and riding club meets. He has made many friends in various cities with club members who enjoy horses, competition and who support the western way of living. He served positions for the Nephi Nebo Posse as District 11 Vice-President and as President. He served as President of the Southern Utah Region and Vice-President of the Utah State Western Riding Club Association.

He and his wife, Georgia, are the parents of Lisa (Bryan) Dent, Adrienne (Scott) Nielsen, Geoff (Tonya) Hadley and Jeffrey Jarrett. They have five grand-children Lauren, Harley, Hannah, Gillian and Riley.

He has lived most of my adult life in Salt Lake City, but has worked throughout the State of Utah in the construction equipment industry. He considers Nephi his home, where he still has family roots, including his father, Earl Jarrett, and siblings Bonnie (Hap) White, Karen (Harlo) Newton, Paul, Don (Sherri), Reid (Vicki), and Wayne (Connie) Jarrett.

He considers Nephi to be a beautiful area tucked away in a picturesque backdrop nestled under Mount Nebo and those mountains with the beautiful red cliffs, especially at sunset. "This time of year is a reminder of my youth and how special this annual Ute Stampede was with all the fun enjoyed with friends and family during this celebration," he says. He adds, "There was something special about the rodeo coming to town and everyone's excitement to enjoy the celebration"

"I am very honored to have been selected to be the western parade Grand Marshal and wish everyone a wonderful 69th annual Ute Stampede celebration, please take advantage of all the activities available," he says.
