Arla Nielson McPherson Demars
1930 ~ 2014


In loving memory of Arla Nielson McPherson Demars
Arla Nielson McPherson Demars, age 84, peacefully passed away May 31, 2014 in Nephi, Utah. Arla was born March 3, 1930 on a hilltop on Fairview Canyon to Andrew Christian Neilson and Ruth Bernice Swasey. The family was living Mt. Emmons in Duchesne County Utah. Her father passed away in January 1930.
In 1935, they moved to Mt. Pleasant and lived there until 1940. when Ruth married Christian Jensen and moved to Moroni, UT. Arla graduated from Snow College which was a major feat for women at that time. On May 22, 1950, she married Earl LaMont McPherson in the Manti Temple, whom she had met on a blind date at Snow College. Subsequently they raised 6 children, Paul(Judy) McPherson, Andrew(Jo Lyn) McPherson, Joy (Bruce ) Beal, Timothy (Maxine) McPherson, Robins (Kimberly) McPherson and Mary Ann Jolley (deceased).
Arla's life was dedicated to raising her children and being active in the LDS Church. Her hard work, determination and love of family were examples of blessings she passed on to her children. After an unfortunate set of circumstances, Arla and Mont divorced. She remarried three times, but the love that grew with Mont and her children still exists today. The reunion will be very touching.
Arlawas preceded in death by her parents, her sister June Ashton,, her daughter Mary Ann Jolley and two grandsons Jeromie Tanner and Benjamin McPherson. In addition to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she leaves behind a sister, Jennette Ashby.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in the Nephi North Stake Center, 1125 N 400 E. Family and friends may call Wednesday morning one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.


Grace M. Jackson
1919~2014


Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Grace Marie Jackson, passed away peacefully May 28, 2014, at the age of 94. Grace was born October 16, 1919 in Nephi, Utah to Brigham and Zolo Christensen Garrett. Grace grew up in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. She married Jack D. Malloy in 1940; he died in WWII in 1943. They had one daughter, Lynda (Gail) Skidmore. On September 6, 1948 she married Russell Henry Jackson; their marriage was solemnized December 17, 1982 in the Provo Utah Temple. They have five children, Russell Kent (Marianne), George R. (Jill), Dale G. (Vicki), Pamala (Chad) Brinkerhoff and Shirley (Steve) Gomez. Russ and Grace raised their six children on their family dairy farm in Nephi, Utah. Mom loved Nephi. Though her home has been with her daughters for the past ten years, Nephi is the only place she called home. We will miss her quiet, kind, sweet service that she so freely gave to us. She has truly blessed our lives.
Preceded in death by her husband, parents, 5 sisters, Rhoda, Pearl Dahlen, Blanche Pitt, Geneva Molyneaux, Marjorie Nielson, 4 brothers: Floyd, Lawrence, Roger, and Max, and 1 grandson Gail R. Skidmore Jr. Survived by her children, 23 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and her brother DeWayne (Elaine) Garrett.
Funeral Services were held Monday June 2, 2014 at the Nephi 6th Ward building, 350 North 100 West, Nephi, UT. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sharon Strong and Silverado Hospice for the kind loving care they gave our mother these past several months.


Veradean (Dean) Sage

Veradean (Dean) Sage was born November 5, 1928 in Nephi, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Worwood and Amy Ellen (Bale) Worwood. She passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Willow Lane Nursing Home, Butler, MO at the age of 84 years.
Veradean (Dean) was a housewife who took care of he farm and loved her chickens. She was united in marriage to Hugh D. Sage and to this union 3 children were born.
Veradean was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters: Eliza Burnett, Sylvia Worwood, Lily Coulson; 3 brothers, Ron Worwood, Robert Worwood, and Norman Worwood who died in infancy, all from Utah, and a grandon, Samuel O. Ussery.
She is survived by her son Christopher W. Sage and wife Roberta, Butler, MO; two daughters: Mitzi Lee Sage, Macon, MO; Phoebe Paula Sage, Moundville, MO; three grandsons, Kevin W. Sage and wife Roxy, Archie, MO; Alvin A. Ussery III and wife Traci, Sheldon, MO; Scott D. Ussery and wife Angie, Jackson, MO; one granddaughter, Phoebe Marla Davis and husband Aaron, Nevada, MO; and 9 great-grandchildren, Kevin C. Sage, Rachel Lyn Sage, Tessa Ussery Turner, Haley Ussery, Kelcie Ussery, Brittany Ussery, Devin Ussery, Lauren Davis, and Tyler Davis.
