The new superintendent was sworn-in during ceremonies held at the beginning of school board meeting.
Dr. Rick Robins took the oath of office to become Superintendent of Juab School District effective immediately.
Dr. Robins replaced Dr. Jim Shank, who moved from the District to assume a superintendent position in Washington State."
The oath of office was administered by Darin Clark, district business administrator.
"We want to welcome Dr. Robins as our new superintendent," said Dale Whitlock, board president.
Shank's letter of resignation became effective on June 30 but the plan was always to swear Robins in a few days early, at board meeting on June 17.
When the announcement of his appointment was made, it was announced that the appointment would become official at the board meeting in June.
Dr. Robins has been the Juab High School principal for the past four years. Last year he was named the Utah High School Principal of the Year.
"The Juab School District Board of Education was unanimous in its decision to appoint Dr. Robins as superintendent following the resignation of Dr. Jim Shank," said Whitlock.
Whitlock said that the board is looking forward to working closely with Robins.
He had been shadowing Dr. Shank through the transition.
"Dr. Robins is now officially the superintendent for our district and we are happy to have him on board," said Whitlock.
Robins thanked the board for their confidence in him.
