Juab County contributed $50,000 to Nephi City for use
in the recreation department.
That is $25,000 more than was donated last year.
"We agreed to contribute the money," said Neil cook,
commission chairman. "They sent us an invoice and we did
budget the money."
Nephi City is running the recreation program and
participants from throughout the east side of the county do
participate in the recreation programs.
"We have seen the budget and we do know where the
money is spent," said Cook.
The commissioners reviewed the different programs the
money helped support. Those programs included taking care of
the ballparks and helping fund teams for a variety of
recreation activities.
"The kids now wear shirts that say Juab Recreation on
them," said Cook.
After the recreation district is placed on the
November ballot, he said, the commission would know what
residents wanted. That would determine what would happen
with recreation funding in the future.
