William Keith McCaffery
1931~2014

William Keith McCaffery, age 83, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his home in Nephi, Utah.
Keith was born March 10, 1931 in Manti, Utah to Patrick and Hazel Christina Bench McCaffery. He grew up in Manti, and loved the mountains in Sanpete County, where he spent time hunting and fishing. After graduating from Manti High School, he served in the United States Air Force for four years, and was a member of the Utah National Guard for 8 years.
Keith moved to Nephi for work and met Joyce Greenhalgh. They were married January 12, 1955.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with six children.
Keith worked for Thermoid, Gates, and NRP for 43 years. Keith served on the board of the Nephi Western Credit Union for many years, and was the treasurer of URW union while working in the hose business. He was a devoted member of the LDS church and his favorite calling was that of a Home Teacher. He also loved being a member of the Nephi 5th Ward and served a three year mission at the Dry Pack Cannery.   He was a member of the American Legion Post 1.  Gardening was a passion for Keith, and loved sharing his produce and gardening tips with others. Later in life, Keith learned to bake and loved to make pies. We will miss cleaning up the kitchen after him.  He was a big Utah Jazz Fan, and loved sharing that activity with his granddaughter JaNell.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He always looked forward to visits with the grandkids and getting the candy jar out.   Both family and friends will miss him greatly.
Survived by his wife Joyce, children: Robyn (Nile) Wilkey, Colleen (Larry) Ingram, Jyll Wentz, Heidy (Marlo) Stephenson, Patrick McCaffery, all residing in Nephi, UT, 21 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.  Siblings: Barbara Jorgensen of Kearns, Pauline (Byron) Deleeuw of Kearns, Betty (Ray) Jorgensen of Taylorsville, and Michael (Marilyn) McCaffery of  Dolores,  CO.
