STERLING SCHOLAR WINNERS • Matye Ingram, Becky Stubbs and Jade Ellison were recipients of Sterling Scholar Awards. Missing from picture is Caitlin Holladay, winner in English.

Juab High School brought home two winners and two runners-up at the Central Utah Sterling Scholar Awards Ceremony, sponsored by Deseret News-KSL, held at North Sanpete High School on March 15, 2005.

Winners from Juab were Caitlin Holladay, English and Becky Stubbs, Family and Consumer Science. Runners-up from Juab were Jade Ellison, Dance, and Matye Ingram, Visual Arts.

Other Juab participants were Ashley Day, Laura Peeler, Brady Harris, Matt Howard, Zac Barr, Ashley Clark, Milinda Esplin, Kayla Rice, and Lindsay Hart.

Winners and runners-up (respectfully) from all categories were: Visual Arts: Megan Lund, Manti, Matye Ingram, Juab, and Eric Heywood, North Sanpete; Trade and Technical Education: Stephanie Boore, Gunnison Valley, Sadie McPherson, Delta, and Austin Pieper, Manti; Business and Marketing Education: Kacie Bond, Millard, Emilie Neona Hawkes, Delta, and Dale Nielson, Manti.

Family and Consumer Science: Becky Stubbs, Juab, Grace Brown, Delta, and Amanda Kimball, Millard; Dance: Joni Tuttle, Millard, Jade Ellison, Juab, and Lindsay Larsen, North Sanpete; Computer and Information Technology: Cigi Mundy, Millard, Adam Banks, Delta, and Brett Brown, Manti.

Social Science: Rachel Leaming, North Sevier, Amberlee Lund, Millard, and Justine Pruitt, Richfield; English and Literature: Caitlin Holladay, Juab, Amy Ipson, Delta, and Brandi Bastian, North Sevier; Foreign Language: Andrea Whitaker, Millard, Klancie Day, Delta, and Jamie Forsythe, Richfield.

Mathematics: Ashley Davis, Millard, Kurt Lindstrom, Delta, and Chelsea Chappell, Richfield; Science: Jaclyn Matthews, Richfield, Aaron Bench, North Sanpete, and Ashlyn Ruth Petersen, Delta; Speech and Drama: Daniel K. Steele, Delta, Ian Jenkins, Millard, and Kelsie McCoy, South Sevier; Music: Amy Reynolds, North Sevier, Janell Rowley, Richfield, and Alitha Johnson, Gunnison Valley.

General Scholarship: Karen Johnson, Manti, Kathryn L. Draper, Delta, and Ashley Rowe, Richfield.

The Master of Ceremonies was Mr. Gary Chidester of Mt.Pleasant. Musical selections were performed by Janell Rowley, a piano solo, from Richfield High School; Camille Finlinson, vocal solo, from Delta High School; Amy Reynolds, flute solo, from North Sevier High School; and Gina Petrice Burningham, marimba solo, from South Sevier High School.

A tribute to teachers and parents was given by Lacie Jo Lammert, Manti High School, the 2004 winner in General Scholarship.
