There is a maintenance project, as well as a construction project, coming to the Nephi Municipal Airport this next year.
There are some components to the maintenance project that benefit being done in cold weather, such as crack-seal and seal-coat work. The council received bids for that work and the low bidder was Intermountain Slurry Seal, a company that has done work at the airport before.
The amount of the bid was $144,316.
Nephi City receives funding assistance for the maintenance projects from the Utah Division of Aeronautics. Funding assistance for construction projects comes from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
"Since this is a maintenance project, it's a state-funded project," said Randy McKnight, city administrator.
He said that he had confidence in Intermountain Slurry Seal, and asked that the council award the bid.
They awarded the bid to the company with a unanimous vote.
