Claude Maurice Kay Jr.
1931-2009


Claude Maurice Kay Jr. passed away at his home in Mona, Jan. 27, 2009 of complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Claude Maurice Kay and Savina “Ina” Rowe.
He lived most of his life in Mona, Utah. He attended Mona Elementary School and graduated from Juab High School in 1950.
He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was a tank commander with three tanks under his command.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many callings especially among the Scouts and Young Men.
He married Kathleen Hansen, Dec. 27, 1956, in Springville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on July 26, 1957. To them were born six children.
He worked as a lab technician at Dugway Proving Grounds. He managed the Tooele Stake Welfare Ranch in Vernon Utah for six years. He lived and worked in Tempe, Arizona, for two years where he developed a talent as an artist and picture framer. Later in his years he worked for the U.S. Forest Service.
He is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Ina Kay and a brother, Warren Hal.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen; his sons, Doran (Susan) Kay, Quinton (Reina) Kay, John (Jill) Kay, and Kenneth (Amy) Kay, all of Mona; daughters, Elizabeth (Don) Hansen of Tremonton, Utah and Anne Marie (Charles) Russell of Pocatello, Idaho; brother, Ellis (Georgina) Kay of South Jordon, Ut; and sister, Margo Ann Taylor of Mona, Utah. He has 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Alice C. Belliston
1918-2009


Alice Kirsten Christiansen Belliston, age 90, passed away January 22, 2009 in Provo, Utah.
She was born December 6, 1918 in Centerfield, Utah, to James Henry and Gertrud Hansene Jahn Christiansen. She married Allen Edwin “Spud” Belliston November 25, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He died February 5, 1988.
She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many positions including 17 years doing genealogy extraction work. She loved politics and served most of her life in various positions in the Utah Republican Party. She was a founding member of the Nephi Variette Club. She maintained her garden and shared her crops with all she knew up through the ripe age of 90.
Survived by Jessie C. (Ladd White) Wilkey, Chris A. (Penny) Wilkey, Martin (Marty) B. (Lisa) Wilkey, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, J.  Barres (Mary) Jenkins, sister-in-law, Margaret Christiansen and cousin, Carla P. Anderson age 99. Preceded in death by brothers, Wesley Jahn Christiansen, Raymond W. Christiansen and sister, Norma Jenkins.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2009 in the Nephi North Stake Center, 1125 N. 400 E. Interment in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.
