Three Juab School District Board members were sworn into office at the beginning of board meeting on Wednesday.
Cheryl Kay, Dale D. Whitlock, and Delanie Hathaway all took the oath of office as administered by Darin Clark, district business administrator.
Darin Clark, Juab School District Business Administrator, was then sworn into his position by Hathaway, as board president, for another two-year term.
Following the short swearing in ceremony, Hathaway, who had been serving as president of the board, called the meeting to order.
As the first order of business nominations for board president and vice president were taken.
Hathaway was nominated and elected to retain the office of president.
“Unless there is an objection,” said Hathaway, “we will just keep the assignments we had last year.”
She said that Whitlock would take the assignments belonging to his predecessor and that she would meet with him to discuss those assignments.
Tracy Olsen was nominated to office of vice president of the board and was selected by unanimous vote. That job had been held by Stacy Brooks.
Whitlock replaces Rick Welsh on the board. He was elected in November when he defeated Welsh on the ballot for a seat representing School Board District #2.
Kay was unchallenged in School Board District #1 which encompasses Mona. Hathaway was also unchallenged. She was elected in School Board District #3.
“Darin Clark will now serve another two years as business administrator,” said Hathaway. “He and Superintendent Dr. Kirk Wright, are both appointed by the board for two-year terms of office. Dr. Wright was appointed last year.”
