Florence Kendall
1921-2009


Florence Clara Park Kendall returned home to her Heavenly Father and a joyous reunion with her loving and devoted husband, Dee, Friday, November 27, 2009.
She was born January 26, 1921 in Nephi, Utah, to Edgar Dowain and Emily Ireta Harper Park. She married Dee Charles Kendall March 21, 1941, the marriage was later solemnized and their four children were sealed to them on March 10, 1953 in the Manti Temple.
Mom was a talented and energetic person, she spent many hours knitting afghans and crocheting dollies for her family and friends. She also made “Grannee Patch” dolls for each of her grandchildren providing many hours of enjoyment for them. We were all warmed by the countless quilts she made and shared. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints, serving a mission to the Washington Spokane area from March 1985 to March 1986 as well as many capacities during her lifetime.
She is survived by her four children, Christy (Bob) Steele of Nephi, UT; Cathy (Darryl) Ence of Columbus, Georgia; Connie (Michiel) Stewart of Salt Lake City, UT; Craig (Mary) Kendall of Las Vegas, NV; 13 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; brother, Lyle H. (Betty) Park of Spanish Fork; sister-in-law, Bessie F. Jones of Nephi, UT. Preceded in death by her loving companion Dee Charles Kendall, grandchild, Katie Ence, her parents, brother, D. Marvin Park and sister, Maxine Anderson.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North Nephi. Interment in the Nephi City Cemetery.


Ray M. Myers
1915-2009


Ray Macfarlane Myers, age 93, passed away November 26, 2009 at his home in Mona, Utah.
He was born December, 17, 1915 in Windser, Garfield County, Utah, to Caesar and Winifred Ethel Macfarlane Myers. He married Agnes Newton December 23, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away January 6, 1997.
He worked in residential construction and attended school in Berkeley, California, before moving to Salt Lake City. While living in Salt Lake City he attended and graduated from Molar Barber College. He served his country in WWII from 1943-1946. He resided in Mona for over 60 years, where he served on the town board in several positions. He owned and operated the Myers Barber Shop in Nephi for 30 years. He also owned and operated the A&R Drive-in for many years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many leadership positions. He was an avid sportsman and loved gardening.
He is survived by his two daughters, Charlyce (Don) Fowkes of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Beverly (Lloyd) Hawkins of American Fork, Utah; 7 grandchildren and 21great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Foy. Preceded in death by his wife; son, Kip; granddaughter, Shelly; sister, Ruth; brother, Champ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, in the Mona 1st Ward. Family and friends may call Friday prior to the services from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Mona City Cemetery.


Neil H. Black
"Puny"


Neil H. Black, 79, passed away November 27, 2009.
Neil was born April 29, 1930 in Nephi, Utah, to Harrison Eugene and Elizabeth Annie Read Black. Married Joan Davis May 9, 1953 in Goshen, Utah. He worked for the U.S. Government Quality Assurance for 31 years, retired. Neil was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed deer hunting and ATV riding with his family and friends in the mountains near his home town of Nephi. He was a member of the El Nautica Boat Club on Utah Lake where Neil loved to water ski. He enjoyed the many friendships he made while bowling two leagues a week for 50 years.
Neil is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Joan; children: Larry (Susan) Black, West Jordan; Joneil (Jack) Powers, Dallas, TX; Ronald (Terry) Black, Taylorsville, UT; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Read (Helen), Provo, UT; Keith (Marylain) Black, Santa Clara, UT; sister, Rhea (Clinn) Morgan, Nephi, UT. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Nannette; granddaughter, Lisa Black.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3, 2009, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where family and friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Graveside services and interment will follow at Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1220 North 400 East, Nephi, approximately 3:00 p.m.
