Jack Dansie
John Wallace Dansie, age 76, passed away December 13,
2004 in Mesquite, Nevada, of natural causes. He was born
July 23, 1928 in West Jordan, Utah, to Clarence Edgar and
Grace Jones Dansie. He married Jean Holm August 9, 1948 in
Spanish Fork, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in
the Idaho Falls Temple June 10, 1966. They spent 56 years
together.
He drove truck, worked construction and mined most of
his life.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Nephi; children,
Brenda Taylor of Spanish Fork, Karen (Jim D.) Eardley of
Mountain View, Wyoming, Jackie (Lynn) Durrant of Provo,
Craig (JoAnn) Dansie and Kayleen (Bruce) Evans, all of
Nephi; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren;
brothers, Donald (Laurel) Dansie of Springville, Clint (Ann)
Dansie, and Randy (Phyllis) Dansie, all of Payson; sisters,
Eva Mae (Everett) Hansen of Palmyra, Grace (Keith) Hansen of
Murray, Berta Lou (Ed) Holt of Palmyra. He was preceded in
death by his parents, brothers, Robert and LaMonte
Dansie.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday,
December 17, 2004 in the Nephi Stake Center, 351 North
100West. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at
the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 West 300 North and at the
church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in
the Spanish Fork Cemetery at 3 p.m.
Olivene Sorenson
Olivene Christensen Sorenson, age 77, passed away
December 7, 2004 in Provo, Utah. She was born May 17, 1927
in Levan, Utah, to Herman Otto and Mennel Taylor
Christensen. She married Vern Wilmer Sorenson May 24, 1947
in Levan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti
LDS Temple.
She was educated in Levan and graduated from Juab High
School. They moved to California and then to Provo to raise
their family. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Primary presidencies
of both her ward and stake for many years and was a visiting
teacher for many years. She enjoyed making quilts and
cooking. She worked for Fawn Whitney Catering. She was
manager of Osmond Brothers Fan Club for 11 years. She worked
for Eye Clinic of Village Green and as a greeter at RC
Willey's.
She is survived by her husband, Vern; sons, Bryce
Sorenson of Orem, Larry (Jan) Sorenson of Provo; daughters,
Sherrie (Dan) Houston of Moorpark, California, Jana (Royce)
Nish of Plymouth; 12 grandchildren and 4great-grandchildren;
sister, Blanche Pexton of Nephi. She was preceded in death
by her parents and sister, Reva Francom.
Funeral services were held December 10, 2004 in the
Pleasant View 2nd Ward, Provo, Utah. Interment in the Levan
Cemetery.
