Geneil Bowers
1928-2006
Vera Geneil Carpenter Bowers passed away Sunday, November
12, 2006 at the age of 78. Born on October 23, 1928 in
Hinckley, Utah. She was a resident of Utah most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her late husband of 45 years,
Clyde H. Bowers, her mother Vera C. Tripp Carpenter, her
father Dewey T. Carpenter, her brother Donald D. Carpenter,
and her sister Norma J. Carpenter Jackson. She is survived
by her sisters, Dorothey C. Carpenter Cardova of Nephi, UT,
Clara M. Carpenter Posey of San Leandro CA, and
sister-in-law Julia J. Keller of Hinckley UT; her nieces and
nephews, Betty Verlene Williams of UT, Kenneth D. Carpenter
of Nebraska, Kathy Carpenter of Texas, Brent L. Carpenter of
Nebraska, De'Ann Morrill of Colorado, Jean Byrd of UT, Boyd
Byrd of Idaho, Tony Byrd of WY, Melvin Byrd of UT, Clark
Byrd of UT, Mark Posey of CA, Christine Patterson of CA, and
many great nieces and nephews.
Geneil was a loving and devoted aunt and member of the
LDS church. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She
enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with her husband,
as well as reading. She will always be remembered for her
beautiful smile and kindness. Memorial services will be held
on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Anderson
Funeral Home, 94 W 300 N Nephi, Utah. Friends may call one
hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Lehi
City Cemetery.
Michael Ray Clift
1947-2006
Michael Ray Clift, 59, our loving father, grandfather,
son, brother, uncle and friend passed away Wednesday,
November 8, 2006. He was born October 5, 1947 in Salt Lake
City, Utah, to Melvin Clift and Marilyn Ellertson. Living
his younger years in California, he later returned to Nephi,
Utah, where he met and married his high school
sweetheart.
He married Iris Crawforth, February 25, 1967 and had 3
children. After 13 years of marriage, they were later
divorced. Later marrying Debbie Lange and divorcing a short
time later.
He served 5 years in the United States Navy during the
Vietnam War, stationed throughout the United States and
Canada. He served overseas as an underwater demolition
diver, welder and pipe fitter. He was honorably discharged
in 1971.
He extended his education in Forestry, working for the
Utah County Parks and Recreation for several years. He was
also educated in mechanics and later went on to work in
maintenance. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, skiing,
motorcycles, riding his horses, and being with his family
and friends.
He is survived by Iris Potter and Jason Potter of Nephi;
daughters, Melannie Mayne (Larry) of Orem, Marilee Andersen
(Joe) of Texas, Andrea Larsen (Brett) of Orem; his mother,
Marilyn Bailey of North Salt Lake; brother, Jim Clift
(Naomi) of Springville; two sisters, Sandy Egbert (Darrell)
of North Salt Lake, Donna Willcut (Brian) of North Salt
Lake; 11 grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews and many
friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin
Clift and brother, Bryce Clift.
The family would like to give special thanks to the
medical staff at the LDS Hospital and Veterans Hospital, and
also his home health care nurse for the years of care they
have provided.
He has been there for so many people
he will be
missed! We Love You!
A Military Solute was held Nov. 13, 2006 at Walker
Sanderson Funeral Home, Orem. There will not be any further
