Canyon View Park, which some call the Little League Park, has been a project of the city for over one year.
This season's work is nearing a close and many projects there are being or have been completed.
The park, located between 600 and 700 East on 100 North, has been undergoing renovations for the past two summer seasons.
"The irrigation system has been replaced, new grass has been planted and established and trees have been planted," said Randy McKnight, city administrator.
On the southwest corner of the property, he said, a new restroom facility is being constructed. There will also be a storage facility as part of that building which can house a lawn mower and other needed equipment.
Permanent fencing will be installed to separate the property from Salt Creek which flows to the south of the property.
Currently, the parks crew is also creating the first and third base lines.
A backstop will be erected and a home run fence, designed to be portable will be installed. It will be moved infield for games for younger players and out further for games for older people.
"We excavated the property down to the level and installed drains for the infield to keep it from being wet," he said.
Roto-mill was used to provide a good surface for parking, McKnight said.
"The park is of a multi-sports design," he said.
The field can accommodate baseball and soccer and can be used for other outdoor seasonal sports requiring a grassy field.
