Jared Kent Despain
1983-2011


Our loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend to many, Jared Kent Despain passed away October 4, 2011 in an airplane crash, doing what he loved to do.
Jared was born January 10, 1983 in Gunnison, Utah, to Kent and Mary Despain. He graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 2001. He was active in Scouting and was an Eagle Scout. Jared was a member of the National Honor Society. He was Mayor of the Gunnison Valley Youth City Council. He attended Dixie State College earning a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. He served an honorable mission to the Venezuela, Valencia Mission.  While at Dixie State College he studied Aviation and was a commercial pilot and commercial flight instructor. He owned and operated Red Mountain Aviation. While attending college he met his eternal companion, Laura Mary Tharp and was married April 29, 2006 in the St. George Temple. He is the father of two boys, Sam, 3 years old and Max, 3 months old.
Jared was active in the LDS Church, holding many callings. Jared loved people and leaves behind many friends. His passion was flying. Spending many hours in the air and teaching others flying skills. But his real love was his family which always came first. He would often take Sam flying with him.
Jared is survived by his wife Laura, sons Sam and Max, brother Matthew, parents Kent and Mary Despain, grandparents Darrell and Margie Despain, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bert and Gwen Christiansen.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, in the Nephi North Stake Center 1125 N. 400 E. at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Friday, October 14, from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church. Internment will be in the Mayfield Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Funeral directors, Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, UT.


Aiden Cory McEwan
Infant


Aiden Cory McEwan was born October 7, 2011 and spent 13 minutes on Earth in the arms of his parents before returning to his Heavenly Father.
Aiden was born to Annalisa and Cory McEwan of Saratoga Springs, along with his twin brother, Landon Cory McEwan. He died of Limb Body Wall Complex, which was diagnosed in utero, and his family spent the past few months preparing for his birth and expected death.
He left his loving family here, and was surely welcomed back by his loving family beyond the veil.
He is survived by his parents, Annie and Cory McEwan, brother Landon, grandparents Marcia and Don Eyre of Nephi, Lynn and Kitty McEwan of Eagle Mountain, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private funeral services will be held in Nephi, Utah, on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He will be laid to rest in the Vine Bluff Cemetery, near his Great-Grandpa Don. Though he was only here for a very short time, he will be greatly missed.
