Clyde Kay

Clyde Donnell Kay, age 73, passed away September 12, 2004 of heart failure. He was born June 28, 1931 in Nephi, Utah, to Newton Ernest and Alta Nielson Kay. He married Onieta Colleen Worwood in September of 1950. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. She later passed away. He married Darlene Freston on May 18, 1996 in the Manti LDS Temple.

He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission with Darlene to the Illinois Chicago Temple. He was an active member of the Good Sam's Club, enjoying camping and traveling. He served in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene, of Nephi; children, Karl (Gail) Kay of Lawrence, Kenneth (Carolyn) Kay of Castle Dale, Terry (Lori) Kay and Sandra (Terry) McArthur, both of Huntington, Susan (Steven) Bell of Orangeville, Gordon Kay of Tacoma Park, Maryland; 35 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; father, Newton Kay of Nephi; brother, Rex Kay of Nephi; sisters, Karen (Boyd) Mickel of Spring City, Reva (John) Maughn of Nephi; step-children, Keith (Becky) Sperry, Kim (Theresia) Sperry, Lisa (Alden) Orme, all of Nephi, Clinton (Gayla) Sperry of Logandale, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen, mother and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in the Nephi 1st Ward, 222 South 100 East. Interment in Vine Bluff Cemetery, Nephi, Utah.


Opal Webb

Opal Marie Putnam Webb, age 82, passed away September 6, 2004 at her home in Levan, Utah.

She was born August 6, 1922 in Seagertown, Pennsylvania, to Walter and Electa Deckman Putnam. She married George Webb and he preceded her in death in 1967.

She was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Pleasant Grove and a volunteer foster grandparent.

She is survived by a son, Eric (Linda) Webb of Levan; a daughter, Ruth (Michael) Burns of Connelly Springs, North Carolina; sister, Ruth (Eugene) Ritenour; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Floyd, Clarence and twins Harold and Jerald; sister, Elsie.

Funeral services were held September 9, 2004 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Nephi, Utah. under the direction of Rev. Don Carter of The First Baptist Church of Gunnison. Interment in the Levan Cemetery.
