Nephi City Council members voted to adopt two changes in
the city's personnel policies.
One of those will allow for overtime pay in some
circumstances and the other for compensation for those who
are stand-by status.
"The first change will allow for overtime pay when
employees participate in certain pre-approved activities
funded by outside sources," said Randy McKnight, city
administrator.
The second change allow for compensation for personnel
who are on stand-by status.
Council member Darin Peterson made the motion to
include the two amendments in the city's personnel
policies.
"We want to be fair to our employees," said Brough.
"These amendments make our policy more equitable."
Nephi City Council members will be considering
ideas to put in place to help celebrate the community's
150th birthday anniversary.
"In 2001, Nephi will be 150 years old," said Randy
McKnight, city administrator.
"There have been several inquires concerning what the
city is planning to do in 2001 to celebrate the 150th year
of the settling of Nephi City," he said.
Council members agreed to discuss possibilities at a
future work meeting.
"Residents of Nephi might talk to us individually if
they know we were planning to celebrate," said Chad Brough,
mayor.
He said comments from residents would be
appreciated.
Several new employees will be hired at Canyon
Hills Golf Course to help complete the golf season.

mayor.
"In order to continue operations at the golf course
some additional seasonal employees will need to be hired,"
he said.
The city will hire Lance Ludlow, Jesse Brady, and
Scott Wallace to complete the season.
