Blanche Ockey Davis
1926 ~ 2016


Born the first of five children to James H. Ockey and Susan Viola Worthington on Oct. 4, 1926 in Nephi, Utah, Blanche Ockey "Dolly" Davis peacefully passed away on August 20, 2016 surrounded by her sweet husband and loving family.
Blanche, affectionately nicknamed Dolly, and her siblings grew up on their family farm in Nephi, Utah. She attended school at Juab High School where she was a cheerleader, played the flute, sang in choirs and trios and was active in many organizations. After graduation, she attended BYU, majoring in Home Economics. Dolly married John R. "Jack" Davis on Dec. 20, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. They immediately took up residency in Portland, Oregon where Jack was attending Dental school. They moved to Utah, Washington, California and eventually settled in Pocatello, Idaho in 1964.
Dolly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a unique ability to bring out the best in everyone and had countless lasting friendships. She loved being part of the Pocatello Literary Club and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Dolly was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous positions of service, compassion and leadership. Her greatest joy was her family. She devoted her entire life to serving her children, grandchildren, and her sweetheart Jack.
Dolly is survived by her husband, seven children - Daniel (Cecilia) Davis, Pocatello: Allyn (Scott) Smith, Pocatello; Suzanne Davis, Salt Lake City; Julie (Eric) Hattabaugh, Bountiful, Utah; Elizabeth Evans, Ogden, Utah; Steven (Michelle) Davis, West Jordan, Utah; Polly (Farrell) Wheatley, Jerome, Idaho; 38 grandchildren and 68 great- grandchildren; brothers Jim and Steven Ockey and sister Janet Rigby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Luana Green; son John T. Davis, and infant great-grandson Gunner Wheatley.
The family expresses their deep appreciation to the wonderful nurses and staff of Access Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Jordan Bailey, and Home Helpers for their kind and loving care to our sweet mother in her final days.


Ranee Kay
1929~2016


Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Ethel Ranee Kay passed away late Saturday evening, August 27 2016, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born May 25, 1929, eldest daughter of Irvin Jarrett and Ethel Caroline Gundersen, in Nephi, Utah.
Ranee married the love of her life, Kenneth Gerald Kay, on January 12, 1952 and they were sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, June 5, 1967. Her family was the most important thing in her life and the source of her greatest joy and happiness. She also loved serving in numerous callings in the Church, especially in the Primary. She served as a ward/stake librarian in the Kearns Utah North Stake for over 40 years and was only released in 2013 (when she was 84 years old). She was nurturing and gave faithful, selfless service to her family, neighbors and church (100% visiting teaching year after year). She was prayerful and humble, sweet, clean and virtuous, and faithful to the end.
She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Celia Doris Jarrett, her mother and father, younger brother Eric Irvin Jarrett and his wife, Edith; her infant daughters Christine Ranee and Cindy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Ken; children, Michael (Jamie) Kay, Sharon Louise Kay; three grandchildren, Jonathan Michael (Jenni) Kay, Brian LaMonte Butterfield and Shalice Ann Butterfield; one great-granddaughter, Alice Ann Butterfield; sister, Helen (Robert) Price.
Mom was an amazing cook, attentive listener, always offering encouragement and unconditional love. Her gentle spirit, inner strength, and deep abiding faith has inspired and brightened the days of all who have known her.
Her name will be held in loving remembrance for generations to come.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday August 31, 2016 at the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery, 1200 North 400 East Nephi, Utah. Family and friends will gather at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W 300 N, Nephi, UT at 10:00 AM prior to the services.
