Roger T. Higginson
1955~2014
Roger T Higginson passed away on a peaceful Sunday morning in his Nephi home as a result of heart failure. He was born on September 20, 1955 in Nephi, Utah to Lawrence and Florine (Taylor) Higginson and lived in Nephi all his life.
Roger married the love of his life Hazel Jean Elder on May 5, 1973 and with her raised 3 sons.
Roger will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the many, many laughs shared with his family and friends. He was a great father and spent countless hours coaching his son's baseball teams, fishing, four wheeling, model rockets, deer hunting, and many other activities with his sons and other loved ones. Over the years many have confused Roger with his identical twin brother Rodney, something they often had a lot of fun with.
Roger worked at Nephi Rubber Products most of his life, starting as soon as he turned 18. He enjoyed the people he worked with and shared many laughs with his friends there. He worked many years on the cover machine and in receiving. Then when computers became more common, he taught himself more about them and eventually became the I.T. administrator for NRP. Dad loved anything and everything electronic!
Roger was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Craig Higginson, brother-in-law Shelly Elder, and nephew Craig Higginson. He is survived by his wife Hazel, sons Cody (Missy), Lee (Jennifer), and Jeff, twin brother Rodney (Robyn) Higginson, brother Carl (Lynn) Higginson, sister Nan (Shelly) Elder, and his 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the Nephi 4th Ward, 345 East 500 North. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W 300 N and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
