Newell Boyd Green
1942 ~ 2014


Newell Boyd Green passed away peacefully on August 6, 2014 in Taylorsville, Utah surrounded by his family.  He was born on June 21, 1942 to Delwin Reed Green and Itha Mercy Tunbridge Green.  He married Paula Jeanne Haymond on November 12, 1966 in the Manti Temple.  Newell was a member of the Utah National Guard from 1964-1983.  He was a valued member of the National Guard and a recipient of the Outstanding NCO award.  He worked at Tooele Army Depot for a short period before moving to Utah Transit Authority where he worked as a mechanic.  He retired in 2006 and returned to his beloved home town of Fountain Green, Utah with his wife, brother, and mother.
Newell was a loved and respected son, husband, brother, father, and friend.  His sense of humor and his willingness to give to, support, and love his family, neighbors, and friends was without bounds and he will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice for Utah for their support for both Newell and his family.  His love for his caregivers gave him a smile every day that they would visit.  A very special thanks to Chelsea, Ruth, and Cleston who gave of themselves such dear and loving support that they will never be forgotten.
Newell is survived by his wife, Paula; mother, Itha; brother, Michael (Laura); daughter, Laura (James); sons, Mitch (Jody) and Mark (Sandy); grandchildren, Aric (Jennifer), Jayde, Amber (Alex), Zach, Taylor, and Aiden, great-grandchild, Dominick; many nieces, nephews, and other family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reed; brother, Gordon; nephew, David as well as many other beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Gravesides services were held on August 11, 2014 in Nephi, Utah at the Vine Bluff Cemetery, located at 1240 North 400 East.
