Lots of prize money was awarded at the annual 81st Ute Stampede in Nephi this past weekend.
The rodeo presented $118,331.40 in prize money for the three-day event running July 9, 10, and 11.
Bull Riding Go-Round 1 Results: First, with a score of 85.0, was Christopher Byrd, Compton, CA, who won a prize of $2,984.80; second with a score of 78.0 was Trent Jacobson, Irwin, ID, for a prize of $2,462.46; and third, with a score of 65.0 was Justin Anderson, Nephi, UT, for a prize of $2,014.74. The total purse was $6,862.
Saddle Bronc Riding Go-Round 1 Results: First, Allen Boore, Axtell, UT, with a score of 81.0 for a prize of $1,996.56; second, Charlie Kogianes, Provo, UT, with a score of 80.0 for a prize of $1,530.70; third, Clay Stremler, Winnemucca, NV, with a score of 78.0 for a prize of $1,131.38; fourth, Hawkins Shane Boyce, Malad, ID, with a score of 77.0, for a prize of $732.07; fifth, Levi Berry, Morgan, UT, with a score of 74.0 for a prize of 4465.86; sixth, Christian Stremler, Winnemucca, NV, with a score of 73.0 for a prize of $332.76, seventh, Telden McLain, Winnemucca, NV, with a time of 70.0 and a prize of $266.21; eighth, Jake Larson, Garland, UT, with a score of 50 for a prize of $199.66.
