Denee P. Stephenson
1926-2010
Nell Denee Park Stephenson, age 84, passed away July 22, 2010 at her home in Nephi,Utah, after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born May 14, 1926 in Nephi, Utah, to Stanzius Passey and Nellie Fern Lunt Park. She married Thomas Ray Stephenson May 14, 1945 in Nephi, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized Feb. 22, 1964 in the Manti Temple. He passed away August 18, 2003.
She started working at the Nephi Cafe, where she met her husband Ray. She also worked at Ray's Café for 33 years. She loved crocheting, going to exercise class, playing games with the grand kids, hosting family barbeques, and playing cards with neighbors. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings.
Survived by her children, Gary Stephenson of Mt. Pleasant; Beth (Ron) Taylor of Nephi; Kathy Tullis of Washington, Utah. Marlo (Heidy) Stephenson of Nephi; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Daphne Park and Melba Jensen; brother, Neil (Ann) Park; sisters-in-law, Thearl Park and Eva Park. Preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth and Boyd; sister, Sharon Smith; great-grandson, Kaden Kevin Taylor.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Nephi 4th Ward, 345 East 500 North. Interment in the Nephi City Cemetery.
